Training by a leading paediatric dietitian for dietitians in the use of behavioural change tools in childhood obesity. This practical training course will facilitate dietitians working in childhood obesity to develop their skills and confidence in using behavioural change skills on a one to one basis. This non residential course will be relevant to all dietitians working in childhood obesity. Dietitians working in paediatric diabetes may also find this course instructive.

Practical sessions on

Dr Laura Stewart is a leading dietitian in childhood obesity. She has published a number of articles in international peer review journals and is author of number of text book chapters on childhood obesity including in the 3rd edition of the BDA Paediatric Group's 'Clinical Paediatric Dietetics'. She was a member of the SIGN 69 guideline group on Childhood Obesity (2003) and sits on the current SIGN working group up-dating these guidelines. She developed and delivers the BDA's one day Introduction to Childhood Obesity course and is the Course Director for the DOM UK/ Paediatric group's annual 3 days childhood obesity course. She is the DOM UK childhood obesity sub group lead. As well as her CWC training role Laura is a team lead for an NHS area childhood obesity service.

This non residential course costs £155 for two days. Costs include all handouts, course notes and tea/coffee refreshments. Costs do not include lunch.

Venue - The Candlish Room, St George's West Church, 58 Shandwich Place, EH2 4RT, Edinburgh. This venue is in central Edinburgh and is ideally located for trains and the Edinburgh airport bus.
